This Privacy Policy explains how the Mic Bluetooth Speaker mobile application (the "App"), provided by Secure System Bytes (SSByte) ("we", "us"), handles information when you use it. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

## The short version

- **On-device.** The App captures your microphone and plays it through your chosen speaker or earbuds. This audio is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded, transmitted, or sent to us or any server.
- **No account.** The App has no sign-up, login, or user account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location.
- **Ads.** The App shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects limited device and advertising data to serve those ads.
- **Usage statistics.** The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how its features are used (for example, which voices are picked and how long a live session lasts), so we can improve it. This never includes your audio or anything you say.
- **Notifications.** Only if you say yes, the App sends occasional notifications about updates and new features through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn them off at any time.
- **Purchases.** The optional Pro subscription is sold and billed by Google Play. We never see your payment details.

## Information the App handles

### 1. Microphone audio

The core function of the App is to capture your microphone and route it to a Bluetooth speaker, earbuds, or the phone speaker (for recorded messages), optionally with voice effects. This audio is processed in real time on your device only. The App does not record or store your live audio unless you choose to record it, and it never transmits it to us or to any server.

The microphone can keep running while the App is minimised or the screen is off — for the live mic, and for a hold-to-record clip you have locked to record hands-free — but only after you start it (by tapping Start, or by locking a recording). While it runs, the App shows a persistent notification with a Stop button, Android shows its own microphone indicator, and it stops as soon as you stop it. The App never starts the microphone on its own.

Two features can save audio, and only when you start them: the live recorder, which records your broadcast, and hold to record, which records a clip. You can play a recording back, save it, delete it, or share it, including as a video that the App creates on your device. Saved files are stored locally on your device (for example, in your Music folder). A recording or video leaves the App only if you share it, and then only to the app or contact you pick in Android's share sheet. We never receive them. While you work on a clip, the App keeps temporary working files in its private storage on your device.

### 2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App uses Google AdMob to display ads, including optional rewarded ads that you can choose to watch to use a Pro voice. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and app-interaction data. This data is handled by Google, not by us. Pro subscribers see no ads.

### 3. Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used, so we can fix problems and decide what to improve. It records app events such as opening the App, starting and stopping the live mic (and for how long), picking a voice, recording, saving or sharing a clip, viewing Pro options, and how you answered the App's own prompts (update, rating, notifications). Along with these events Google Analytics collects an app-instance identifier, general device information (model, Android version, language, country), and, where available, your device's advertising identifier.

These statistics never include your audio, your recordings, your speaker's name, or anything you type. They are processed by Google under the [Firebase privacy and security terms](https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy), and we see them only in aggregate reports.

### 4. Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)

If you agree when the App asks (or turn on *Updates & new features* in the App's Settings), the App receives occasional notifications about new versions, new voices and new features through Firebase Cloud Messaging. To deliver them, Firebase assigns your installation a registration identifier, which Google uses only to deliver messages to this device. On Android 13 and later, the App asks for Android's notification permission only after you have said yes. You can turn these notifications off at any time in the App's Settings or in Android's settings.

### 5. Purchases (Google Play Billing)

The optional Pro subscription removes ads and unlocks the Pro voices. It is sold, billed and renewed by Google Play, and you can cancel it at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions). We never see your payment details. The App only receives from Google Play whether your Google account owns Pro (including earlier one-time purchases) and the order number, so it can unlock Pro on your device.

### 6. Rating prompt and updates (Google Play)

From time to time the App may ask you to rate it using Google Play's in-app review dialog. That dialog is shown and handled by Google Play. The App does not receive your rating, your review, or any information from it.

The App also asks Google Play whether a newer version is available, so it can offer you the update. Google Play handles the download.

### 7. Settings and counters stored on your device

The App stores your preferences on your device: language, theme, voice effect, audio-tool settings such as equalizer, pitch, boost and noise gate, your notifications choice, and whether you own Pro. It also keeps a few small counters: the date you first opened the App, how many times you have used it, how many times you saved or shared a clip or finished a live session, and when an ad, a rating prompt, an update prompt or a notifications prompt was last shown. The App uses these counters to pace ads and its prompts. Microphone sensitivity and volume are deliberately not saved.

None of this leaves your device. The App is not included in Android's automatic backups, and everything is removed when you uninstall the App.

### 8. Bluetooth

The App uses Bluetooth to find and connect to nearby audio output devices (speakers and earbuds) that you select. When your speaker or earbuds report it, the App also reads their battery level so it can show it on screen. To make reconnecting quick, the App remembers, on your device only, the names of the last few devices you used and when you last used them (up to ten). This list is never sent to us or anyone else. The App does not use Bluetooth to determine your location.

## Permissions we request and why

- **Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO)** — to capture your voice for live audio and hold to record. Required for the App to work.
- **Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH_CONNECT, BLUETOOTH_SCAN)** — to connect to your chosen speaker or earbuds and read its battery level. We request the "neverForLocation" flag so Bluetooth is not used to infer your location. On Android 11 and older, the legacy Bluetooth permissions (and the location permission Android then requires for Bluetooth scanning) are used for the same purpose only.
- **Audio settings (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS)** — to route sound to your chosen output.
- **Foreground service for the microphone (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE) and keep awake (WAKE_LOCK)** — so the microphone you started keeps working when the App is not on screen.
- **Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)** — asked for only after you agree to receive update notifications; once allowed you also see a notification while the microphone is on, with a Stop button.
- **Internet / network state** — to load ads, send usage statistics, receive the notifications you agreed to, check your purchase, and check Google Play for a newer version.
- **Billing (Google Play)** — to let you subscribe to Pro.

## How information is used

- To provide the App's core function (routing your microphone to your chosen speaker).
- To remember your settings and recently used speakers on your device.
- To display ads via Google AdMob and to process your optional subscription via Google Play.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the App is used and improve it (Google Analytics for Firebase).
- To tell you about updates and new features, if you agreed (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- To offer you a newer version of the App when Google Play has one.

## Data sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your audio with anyone. Data goes to Google only for the services described above: advertising data to Google AdMob, usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase, a registration identifier to Firebase Cloud Messaging (only if you turned notifications on), and purchase information handled by Google Play.

## Data retention

We do not hold any personal data on our servers (we have none). Settings and your list of recent speakers remain on your device until you change them or uninstall the App. Saved recordings and videos remain until you delete them. Google Analytics keeps user-level event data for up to 2 months before deleting it; aggregate reports are kept longer.

## Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will address it.

## Security

Because your audio is processed on your device and we operate no servers that store your personal data, your information stays under your control. We rely on the security of your device and of Google's services (AdMob, Analytics, Cloud Messaging and Google Play) for the limited data they handle.

## Your choices

- **Ads personalisation:** reset or opt out of your advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
- **Notifications:** turn *Updates & new features* off in the App's Settings, or block the App's notifications in Android's settings.
- **Subscription:** cancel Pro at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions).
- **Recordings:** delete any saved recordings or videos from your device at any time.
- **Everything:** uninstall the App to remove all locally stored settings and the list of recent speakers.

## Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
